Reality VS. Reality

Hiya there, miss me?

It has been some time, I know.

Apologies, it has been a super weird summer.

Dick appointments were broken via ego trips and beach weekends without any follow-through. (눈_눈)

Plans were made, then disbanded.

Fits have been hissy’ed.

Don’t fret dear reader, not all news is sad tho... (¬з¬)

As the disappointing moments piled up, I also found my editor, been writing workshops and entering competitions. Involving myself more in this vocation that keeps me up at night. Hoping one thing, anything will catch... as I receive hate from online trolls.

In the meantime, I put a pause on the heavy topic of theology, since it requires more study and introspection, introspection that requires a zen-like mindset. One I am struggling to find without nullifying synapses with sweet, sweet Mary Jane. So, excuses aside, I really wanted to write about the current social environment. You know, the writer's strike and the blinding rage towards Chat GPT. Which to me seems wild, considering you don’t blame the knife for slicing the flesh, but the hand that used it, right?

My opinion may not be popular, but I see chat GPT as an opportunity.

Now now, no reason to get uppity, just gimme a moment to explain ( ̄¬ ̄ヾ)

I have many ideas... so many, but, I am also dyslexic and have ADHD. As a child growing up in the 90s, it was impossible for a girl to have this 'disorder'. As we now know that is utter garbage, although it doesn't change how I struggled through my own learning. So something like chat GPT will help me get my ideas out, and prepare sentence structure accordingly ( since grammatical rules refuse to stay in my brain meats). Not to 'cheat' but to utilize the tool as a supportive measure.

THIS DOES NOT MEAN I CONDONE BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES OR THIEVERY.

What I can appreciate and support whole heartily with the writer's strike, is that the system itself is unfair. Chat GPT just illuminated how corrupt, and for the reasons anyone in the industry has understood for a long time.

Anyone who works for a conglomerate understands. That the billions of dollars made are off the backs of underpaid help. Otherwise, no profit would be made.

\(●_● )/

This old ass system survives on people who reserve themselves to just getting by. People who haven't finished school, or travelled from another part of the world. People who don't conform to a perceived social norm. People who are desperate to live comfortably in a world built by classes, a world that thrives on bigotry and infighting. Artists, visionaries and scholars, outliers, weirdos and the obscure. People who could change the world but are stuck in valueless jobs, so they may feed and clothe themselves at the bare minimum. Distracted by the innate need we all have, but cannot seem to recognize in others.

The right to exist.

Many people make up this system.

*The producers and investors who spend the money looking for an exorbitant return.

*The overpaid actors that struggled to get to the top of the pyramid.

*The people who glorify jobs and the opinions of those who only chose to entertain the masses.

*The people who buy into the 'lifestyle' of an unrealistic ideal.

Not realizing the amount of work that was put in by the many subordinates. The laundry list of editors, writers, creatives, illustrators, designers. The many jobs it takes to sell you on a lie they manufacture, so the lifestyle can continue. It’s not Chat GPT’s fault that the ‘upper echelon’ run game on us lessers since they have a quota to fill and no one else could possibly know their pain! ( -‸ ლ ) So, they take their pound of flesh to fill the very hole that this chosen life has created. Money to soften the blow of internal suffering and glamour to shade the eyes from the ugliness of our current reality.

Our reality here on this rotating energy sphere in the centrifuge of space is made by US, not THEM, but US, together. We are the problem and the solution. ♡( ◡‿◡ ) Just because something has existed for a long time doesn't make it right. Science has proven how truly similar we all are, sharing genetics from mother Africa. Proving that race, class and money are all a human construct. One that can be utilized differently if we focus on efforts rather than products.

If you have far more than you require, I can assure you, you are stealing it from another. If you aren't putting in a solid undertaking but profiting from it, you are harming a neighbour, or worse, your children. This isn't a question of what's right and wrong anymore because I believe we surpassed that when we followed the rules of colonization. Choosing profit over people.

We could continue to play by the rules we know are unfair OR start making new ones. We have more opportunities, the world wide web is proof enough! If we choose grace and the humility to see things from differing perspectives, we can seek different experiences, and choose contrasting ideas. We can be aware of our shortcomings and celebrate the fact that we are no longer alone in being fragile, stupid or self-serving.

I mean, isn't that why we are here?

To play with each other, until we die and move on to the next phase of existence...

I’m thinking of sentient life on a different rotating nucleus orb somewhere in the delta quadrant. One hopes.

Or is blaming a tool all we can do, to digest the injustice?

Asking for a friend.
